Iloilo Hotels Fully Booked for Dinagyang 2009
Iloilo City’s premier tourism draw is still some three weeks away, yet all 1,300 hotel rooms here are already fully booked for the Dinagyang Festival slated on the fourth week of January.
Robert Alor, Grand Hotel manager, said no room was spared in bookings for the Dinagyang weekend and reservations have been paid in advance or have deposits.
The situation is the same in other hotels, such as the posh Sarabia Manor and Convention Center. Hotel manager Robert Ferrer said their bookings are on a first-come, first-served basis accompanied with advance payment or deposits.
Amigo Terrace Hotel and Hotel Del Rio are also besieged with reservations. Hotels along the Mandurriao diversion highway, like the Iloilo Business Hotel and West Town Hotel, the Grand Dame Hotel in La Paz district, and the River Queen Hotel, Castle Hotel, and elegant Days Hotel in the city center are also enjoying the Dinagyang hotel reservation bonanza.
Mayor Jerry P. Trenas said he is glad to hear this report from the hotels.
Accommodations are also available in several lodging inns and small pension houses in the city center.
