Food Festival Set for Dinagyang 2009
The Iloilo Hotels, Restaurants and Resorts Association (IHHRA) will once again exhibit the best of Ilonggo dishes during the four-day Dinagyang Food Festival at the stretch of Delgado Street closing Valeria and Iznart Streets.
Happy Abenir, president of the IHHRA, said that the food festival will be on January 22-25.
The activity is already an institutionalized activity of the annual celebration as a showcase of the best food and delicacies in Iloilo. She said that 36 members have already signified their intent to join in the food festival.
Portable toilets shall be placed in strategic places surrounding the food festival area. A medical team will also be on standby for any emergency. Abenir said that they have also requested for additional police security to maintain peace and order in the area.
The food festival has become a family outing where families and their guests and tourists gather to enjoy the ambience and food served. A performance stage with artists and musical bands will complete the entertainment atmosphere of the area open to the general public.
