The Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation Inc. (Idfi) has accepted more than 200 colored photo entries in eight by 10 inches that made it to the Iloilo Dinagyang Photo Contest.

The contest focuses on pictures taken from still and digital cameras during the Dinagyang Festival, particularly the Ati-atihan Tribe competition last Jan. 25.

A total of 45 professional and amateur photographers and camera enthusiasts participated in the contest, with their shots captured during the festival highlights.

The Dinagyang photos are currently on display at the food court area of Robinson Place Iloilo. The exhibit runs from Feb. 7 to 14. The awarding of photo contest winners was held last Monday.

Camera enthusiast Japoi E. Cequina bagged the grand prize. He got the P8,000 cash prize. Ted Madamba won P5,000 for the second prize, while Manjo Uy won P3,000 for the third prize.

The consolation prize winners are photographers Paul Go, Paul Chiongson, Diana Consing, Benedict Paguio, Douglas Ong, Konrad Chiongson, Zernan Golez and Chubby Atillo. A certificate of awards was also given to Ted Madamba for his other entry, as well as to Manjo Uy for his two other entries.

More than 600 professional and amateur photographers, camera enthusiasts and members of several camera clubs in the country, including press photographers of several broad sheets, magazines and media organizations all over the world, were in Iloilo City to record the Dinagyang Festival activities.
